7 May – The ‘How’ of Sustaining Collective Leadership Inquiry to Make a Difference

In this session school leadership teams continued on-going evidence-based collective inquiry. We focused on explicit leadership in relation to our term focus of ‘The ‘How’ of Sustaining Collective Leadership Inquiry to Make a Difference’. We introduced the critical importance of using listening skills to support enhancing school improvement work.

Schools brought their team’s on-going Gap Analysis from Term 1 to this session. We took time for teams’ conversations as they reflected on the current status of their chosen strategic goal for their collective leadership inquiry. We started to unpack the need for all members of the leadership team to be mindful of the listening skills they bring to the learning conversation. Agreeing and committing as a team to next actions is crucial to this process and recording the details of who is responsible; what is the timeframe; an identified Success Criteria.
